Aussie open Semi-finals

Today is the first part of our mid term examination. Yes, the Hell on Earth has begun and first stop is Theology (it’s quite okay especially the essay part). Then Anatomy, the subject I dread the most. After answering the test I went straight home, to find some peace of mind. However, I got tempted to watch TV because it is the semi-finals of the Australian Open. When I tuned in Star Sports, the match is between Maria Sharapova (World Number 1) and Kim Clijters (World Number 4).

The match was decided in a toss coin where Maria chose heads and Kim chose tails. Since it is tails, Kim decided if she serves or receives. Well, she receives.

With Maria serving for the first game, the match was started. It was crucial because both players are on 40 points (deuce). However, Maria got the advantage and won the first game, having 1 – 0 in the first set.

But, Kim will not let Maria win that easily; she came back defeating Maria 3 games in a row, 1 – 3. Then, Maria tied up with 3 – 3 (3 all) and then Kim won the next making it 3 – 4 and then Maria tied again with 4 – 4 (4 all).

Gaining confidence, Maria took Kim in 2 consecutive games making the score 6 – 4, thus, winning the first set.

After, the break, it was Kim’s turn to serve, but she lost on her service match and Maria leading the game. But, then, Maria got out of control and had the match on 1 – 2. Well, after, concentrating she ended up winning the second set consecutively with 6 -2, thus winning the semi – finals of the Aussie Open.

The final score of their match is 6-4, 6-2. This is Maria’s first time in the Australian open finals and she will encounter Serena Williams who defeated Vaidasova with the score 7-6, 6-4.

As for Kim, this is her last match in her career because she retires today.

Well, who will win the Aussie Open? Maria or Serena? Well, Maria is still in the zone since her last Grand Slam in the US Open and for Serena, her come back is awesome, defeating all opponents that block her way to gain the finals. Well, we’ll just see at the finals of the first Grand Slam of the year, Australian Open.

Well, I still need to study, Bye!
